Registration is open! The annual Law Week Fun Run is here again! The event features an 8K run, including a wheelchair division, a one-mile non-competitive children’s run, and a non-competitive one-mile family walk.
Since 1986, the Houston Bar Association has raised over $1.7 Million for The Center For Pursuit, which is a private non-profit United Way agency dedicated to its mission to promote choice, growth, and independence for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism. https://thecenterforpursuit.org/

Volunteer at The HBA Law Week Fun Run!
Calling all volunteers! Producing The Law Week Fun Run takes a tremendous amount of planning and logistics to make each event happen. But even with numerous months of planning for each event, it would be impossible to have a successful event without the help of nearly 100 awesome volunteers.

Volunteers have an excellent opportunity to have a fantastic time, meet new people, and enjoy all the fun! You can help us by recruiting your friends to volunteer for this event- so grab a friend or two and have them sign up to help and make an experience out of it!
Volunteers should arrive early and go to the Volunteer tent. Volunteers are expected to be present the entire shift. If you are unable to make the event, please help us find a replacement and let us know in advance.

What ages can participate in the Kid's Run?
Participants must be 12 or younger to participate. Parent/Guardian must sign the child’s waiver.
Family Friendly?
Yes! This is a Family Friendly Event.

What kind of shape should I be in?
Are pets allowed?
Pets are permitted The 1 Mile Family Walk but should be well-behaved, on a leash at all times, and you accept full responsibility for your pet and its actions.
Is this a timed run?
Yes – we offer an 8k heat; however, The HBA Law Week Fun Run is for everyone of every ability.
Some run competitively and look to get a great time; many people run or walk to meet their own goal, which could simply be about taking part. Some get together with friends and run or walk as a team.
Basically, it’s your event to enjoy as you wish. So don’t worry about finishing times (unless you want to!) – just come along and enjoy the day.

Packet PIck-up?
There will be two official packet pick-up times. We will notify you no less than 1 week before pick-up of the exact details. Your shirt and bib will be available at packet pick-up. The HBA Run Official Event Guide will be emailed to you before the event with any other details about event day.
Are strollers allowed?
Of course! Bring the kiddos if you would like. Strollers are permitted on the 1-Mile Family Walk and the 8k Run. We ask that you please start towards the back and be courteous & cautious of other runners.
What is the Entry Fee?
The HBA Law Week Fun Run offers early registration pricing (shown on the event page). The earlier you register, the more you will save. You can view the event page for complete pricing and a deadline calendar).
Do I have to register online?
You can pay by check with this form, but participants must be individually registered online to participate. If you opt to pay by check, we will send you registration codes to use when registering online. If you have questions, please contact Bonnie Simmons at: bonnies@hba.org
Who can do this?
We have people of all shapes and sizes, ages, and from all walks of life participate in the HBA Law Week Fun Run, from serious road racers and those who are in wheelchairs, to more causal runners, everyone is welcome!
Should I create a team?
You can run The HBA Law Week Fun Run as an individual, or you can start your own 3-person Team! While the run is fun for everyone, it’s especially awesome when you’re with your friends! There are 7 team award categories for those who qualify! Click here to Start a Team!
My event sold out before I could buy a ticket, what should I do?
Sorry. If an event is sold out, that means the event has reached full capacity and we are unable to allow any more registrations for that day.
Can I transfer my registration?
While transfers will not be allowed on event day, general transfers to another person are allowed if done so in advance. To initiate a transfer, please log-in to your Run Sign Up account.
Can I get a refund?
Please see the official Registration Policies for complete information.
Can I Register on Event Day?
If you want to register on event day, please visit the Registration Tent. Depending on availability, we may offer event-day registration.
If you need to register at the event, look for Event-Day registration QR codes or register on our website. After you register online, you will need to visit the Registration Tent, where you will check-in. There, we will provide you with a bib, bag, and shirt.
Will there be a bag check?
Sorry. There is no bag check or holding station at The HBA Law Week Fun Run. If it can’t fit in your pocket, please don’t bring it.
What if there is bad weather?
Where should I park?
Please follow the instructions listed in the Official Mobile Guide. The guide typically goes live the week of the event and will be posted at the top of this page.
Will first aid be available?
Yes. We have confirmed Life Savers Emergency Room as a supporter of our event, so we will have an ambulance on the course and a medic at the finish line.

Rules & Safety
The following rules and guidelines will be enforced at each HBA Law Week Fun Run™ event. Participants and Spectators are expected to abide by all rules and guidelines, including written and/or posted rules of the Houston Bar Association & Fathom Producers LLC and the waiver and agreements they have signed. Participants and Spectators must abide by all instructions from Fathom staff, medical personnel, and event volunteers. Participants, Spectators, and Volunteers understand that HBA Law Week Fun Run™ events are potentially dangerous and assume all responsibility for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of participating in or attending the Law Week Fun Run.
HBA Law Week Fun Run Course
By participating at HBA Law Week Fun Run™, Participants agree that they are the minimum required age. Participants understand that Law Week Fun Run™ is potentially dangerous and accept all inherent risks associated with the event. Participants should bypass any portion or request assistance when they feel like they are in a situation that could compromise their safety. Urinating or defecating on or near the course is strictly prohibited; toilets will be located at the HBA Law Week Fun Run event base.
Enforcement & Removal
the Houston Bar Association & Fathom Producers LLC™ and HBA Law Week Fun Run™ staff and/or medical personnel reserve the right to remove any participant, spectator, or volunteer from the event for any reason. HBA Law Week Fun Run™ medical personnel reserves the right to examine any participant who appears to be injured.
Photography & Media
By entering the the HBA Law Week Fun Run™ event site, Participants, Spectators, and Volunteers or any other persons at the event, agree and allow HBA Law Week Fun Run™ to use and/or license others to use my name, photographs, motion pictures, recordings, and/or likenesses of the participant of the event, edited or in the original state of capture, for promotions, future productions, and advertising in events that may not depict HBA Law Week Fun Run™.
Refund Policy
Due to the logistics and nature of producing an event like The HBA Law Week Fun Run™, registrants (including spectators and donors) are not eligible to receive a refund for any reason, under any circumstance including, but not limited to: injury, scheduling conflict, event delay, event rescheduling or date changes, or event modification. The additional online transactional (checkout convenience) fees, donations, spectator tickets, merchandise purchases, applicable taxes, or any other costs incurred in connection to the event are non-refundable.
Discount Voucher Policy
All discount vouchers must be redeemed on lawweekfunrun.com by the registration date noted on the voucher. This allows us time to order your included items like t-shirts or other inclusions. If you do not register by the deadline, we are unable to guarantee a spot for you. Discount vouchers through third parties are non-refundable. To make sure you are correctly registered, visit the Registration Center and resend your confirmation email. Note: Discount vouchers are non-transferable under any circumstances.
